This show can be enjoyed by anyone that enjoys complex well written characters and human drama; science fiction is merely the backdrop to tell these stories.
I support sci-fi and TV shows of this caliber and the only way great shows like this can survive is by supporting the show with my dollars.
I'm buying Season 3 to show my support and to look forward to a 4th season. The Expanse explores the nature of human conflict, community, culture, power structures, powerlessness, and so much more; the characters and worlds built are rich and engrossing.
I am rooting for humanity, despite all of its flaws. If you love The Expanse and want to see a Season 4, supporting the show and its crew with your dollars is the best thing you can do to.

SyFy recently dropped The Expanse, which is a crazy move. I can watch it on SyFy now, but I deliberately bought the Amazon streaming as well to show Amazon Studios that it has a dedicated and rabid fanbase.
And I plan to by the Blu Ray when it comes out. So what are you waiting for? Get prime so you can catch up on Season 1 and 2.
Season 3 has definitely blown me away so far. First if you look at the two negative reviews on this they're both not related to the show itself so of the legitimate reviews they're all five stars.
Second the show is full of wonder. It's one of those shows where you'll see a character do something that just does not make sense later on when they talk to one another they explain the thought process behind it makes perfect sense anyone who is playing a computer game that found the most enjoyment just discovering what is possible in that universe and found that the most enjoyable part of the game on this TV series fascinating for both seasons that I've seen so far.
It's based on a book series I like most of the series of that ilk, it's clearly more thought out then a regular TV show.
Seriously been on the edge of my seat for 26 episodes. Love this series. Just hope SyFy doesn't cancel it, or just not renew it like they have done with so many other series that get good reviews Great Books!!
Great series. The books by James S. Refreshing because general physics is not ignored because it's inconvenient or expensive to reproduce on screen.
Gravity inconvenient? Make it go away! Inertia troublesome? Just explain it away. Not here!!! There is still politics, ambition, bigotry, etc. Can't explain that away, ala Star Trek.

Ein paar Folgen ziehen sich. Aber dann zum Schluss und der Schluss, sind der Hammer. Hatte die Syncronsprecherin eine Krankheit Halsprobleme?
Das sollte nicht sein. Dann ab der Mitte geht es wieder. Ich finde nachdem sie schwer verletzt wurde. Passt das abgehackte reden richtig gut.
Aber vergleicht einmal mit der englischen Sprecherin oh Man wie Tag und Nacht. Sonst wie gemacht einer der genialsten Sci-Fi Serien die ich je gesehen.
Leider wurde die Produktion von SyFy eingestellt. Weil ich warte schon auf eine Serie von Amazon von das sie auf DVD oder Blu-Ray zu kaufen gibt aber leider bis jetzt noch nicht passiert.

Die erste Staffel war gut, die zweite Staffel besser, die dritte Staffel setzt noch einen drauf. Man wird ja auch nicht gleich ein Star Trek Fan.
So ist das auch mit The Expanse. Es ist eine interessante Geschichte aus dem Jahrhundert und sie ist in sofern realistischer als Star Trek, weil man beamt sich nicht von Ort zu Ort und es gibt keinen Warp.

I've been waiting for the SyFy channel's adaptation of James S. The answer is absolutely. The story follows the first novel, Leviathan Wakes, and it does it with minimal paring down of the scenes and characters.
You can't fit an entire novel into a movie format, even if it is ten hours long, the length of the first season, but they've managed to be true to the story without being handcuffed to it.
The voice audio is muddy in places, typically when we're listening to suit radios or Belter patois. The book has the advantage of everything being clear, but in space, no one can hear you talk.
George R. Martin's quoted on the book jacket saying it's the best space zombie book he's ever read, and while that comment gets a bit ahead of the first episode, it's clear that the whole thing has a deliberately Game of Thrones in Space vibe.
Earth, Mars, and the Belters form an unstable compound and we're just waiting for the catalyst to show up. And it will. If you thought the freighter in Aliens was gritty, you haven't seen the interior of the Canterbury, which comes off as completely authentic in its scarred and beat up way.
So does the interior of Cere's and all together they've done an impressive job not just with Zero G effects, but with selling the fact that gravity isn't just on or off, it's all over the place depending on what's going on.
Maybe you're growing up in a little gravity, maybe you're about to be mashed into your seat by an emergency burn. I wasn't sure about Thomas Jane as Miller, the burned out detective, but I'm totally good with it.
This isn't the book, and it will have its own vibe, although I'm starting to feel it overwrite my internal notions of who everybody was from reading the series.
Fortunately, Jason F. Brown Exec Prod have done a solid job bringing The Expanse to life. To have wasted such a good story would have been criminal.
Hang on. It's going to get bumpy in the episodes ahead. The Expanse is genuinely the best TV science fiction I've seen in years.
Four episodes in and so far I literally have no complaints about it. For a TV show about a book that I really enjoyed, it's hard to describe how unlikely that is.
The show doesn't treat you like an idiot. It's willing to start multiple plot threads with multiple characters and expects you to trust that they'll eventually intersect.
There is some "as you know, [explanation of thing that everyone in this situation would already know]", but some of that is reasonable I think.
It isn't constant, and it's mostly just there to explain things that are both important and would otherwise be extremely confusing.
The first episode throws a lot at you at once, but if you trust the show and keep with it, you learn all the major characters pretty quickly.
The effects are far, far better than anything I'd expect from the Syfy network. I've seen some people complaining about the zero-G effects being crappy, but those people must be picky as hell.
It might not be all blockbuster movie level effects, but they're extremely good. The one caveat I can think of is Ceres, which is supposed to have very low gravity.
This is usually ignored, because the amount of CGI required to make entire sets seem as if they were in low G would be absurd.

We are thirsty for this type of show. With all the mind numbing garbage on TV these days. Its refreshing to enjoy something like this A totally respectable science fiction show; well done, a rare pleasure, indeed.
Possibly the best. This show will be remembered as one of the best ever. Like you people always do. Science fiction, written by smart people, can be extremely relevant, It allows for the discussion of topics not usually explored in popular culture and entertainment.
Based on James S. A Corey 8, soon to be 9 books plus many novellas, the source material is rich and deep.
It is also a period of the future rarely explored by SciFi. Usually we go from present day to FTL and all kinds of magic instead of a familiar Universe with the same rules and the same humans only more Expanded into the Solar System.
Plus all the story locations are actual places we just started to explore, like Ceres and Ganymede! Gorgeous Special Effects and impecable production values..
And if you read the books, then you know you are in for something special! Cannot wait any longer for Season 4. In my personal, humble opinion, the best SciFi show ever.
